and I’m going to tell you how the idea of MasTorrencito came about, an adventure full of unexpected twists and turns that in the end turned into something truly beautiful.

I lived in Salamanca, where I was a professor of graphic design at the university. Everything changed when I met a student from a master’s program I was teaching. She was French and, as love knows no borders, I left everything and took a sabbatical year to go and live in Nice. We set up a beach bar near Cannes, and it went great. It went so well that we decided we could set up something similar elsewhere.

And this is where our journey begins. We decided to look for a suitable place and, my goodness! We found a mansion in Cehegín, Murcia. We went to see it several times and, after a lot of back and forth, we bought it. But after a week or two, we sold it. Because, let’s see, who in their right mind is going to come here on a daily basis and from where? Not to mention the investment it required? And, to top it all off, that summer we were over 50 degrees in the sun – OMG! So we went back to Nice with our tails between our legs.

In our endless search, Saint Google showed us a property in another place. Oh, my God! We fell in love with it…. What a mistake! What a tremendous mistake! We didn’t know what we were getting into. 125 W electricity, only one bathroom, rats the size of rabbits, and the exterior…. I can’t even talk about it. It was a total disaster. And so, without realizing it, we have been here for more than 17 years now, wondering at what point we thought this was a good idea.

Here I have suffered the unspeakable with the work on the house and, of course, with the relationship with my partner. I have become a SUPER SLAVE. This goes for the brave ones who want to get into this world: it is not as nice as it seems. I have been here for a long time and we are still working and investing. It’s non-stop.

A look back. Hello, I introduce myself… I’m Miguel… from MasTorrencito.

Looking back, I see with good eyes that we have made good friends and we have formed a great doggy family that many of you have known and that has accompanied us in good and bad times. Who does not remember Don Markos, my supercojo, or Doña Manuela, the queen of the house, or Max “the gorrilla” of Mas Torrencito? And, of course, Macarena, Mató, Matías, Marcelino, Martina (the fearless cat), and Mr. Mastín, the appeaser, who was unjustly taken away from us by an illness at the tender age of 5 years old? And now enjoying Masto, Maky, Mastitwo and Mamas.

Special words for my dear Mireia, who puts up with me, supports me and gives me encouragement and strength to continue with this life project. Without her, this work would be much more difficult to carry out.

And then there is YOU, dear customers. It’s like Pantone, there are all colors. But we have managed to create a little doggy paradise. And why doggy? Very simple, because they are better, more faithful and grateful than people. This little house was called Mas Torrent, but it turns out that there is a Relax Chateau next to Pals called Mas de Torrent. Five stars, great luxury, two Michelin stars in the restaurant, a real treat. Of course, we had smart customers who thought that for our price they could go there. And they would show up demanding their reservation…. What a fuss they made! So, to avoid more trouble, I closed the house, canceled all reservations, closed the website, and we started from scratch with this beautiful project that is today Mas Torrencito, the first house for pets that accepts people.

And what a change, really. You are such a love, although, as in any garden, there is always a thistle that spoils everything. We have hundreds, if not thousands of anecdotes, but we’ll keep the best: that it’s YOU, dear customer.

From Mas Torrencito we wish you a good day and that your dog accompanies you !!!!
