🏡🐶 “The Grand Canine Hotel: Adventures with Epic-Level Owners.” 🎭🐾

If there is something that surprises me more and more every day, it’s not the dogs… but their owners! 🫠 Lately, the parade of characters that appears here seems to be straight out of a reality show. I don’t know if it’s the full moon 🌕, the spring 🌸 or that the universe has decided to send me the most extravagant owners in history, but every day I live a new anecdote.

🚗 The Belgians in Panic

The other day, some Belgian customers arrive 🇧🇪 with their puppies, park, look around… and stay inside the car. ⏳ Minutes pass. They look. The dogs look. We look. And nobody moves. 🤨

I approach:
Is everything all right?
It’s just that there are dogs
Yes, of course, it’s a place where there are dogs… 🤷‍♂️
It’s just that we don’t know whether to put them down
-🤨 And why not?
Because there are other dogs…

And so we were in an existential loop until, after much meditation, they decided to get out. But, come on, they were so close to leaving without getting out of the car, they didn’t even leave JURASSIC PARK! 🦖🐕

🏃‍♂️ The VIP Dog

Another day, a lady arrives with one of those little dogs that have more hair than its owner. ✨🐩
Can you lock up the other dogs?
Eh? 🤨
Yes, it’s just that my dog wants to run free, and of course, if there are other dogs
-🤦‍♂️ Madam, this is not a private park for your dog.

Of course, he was outraged, because of course, his dog is of a higher category and cannot share lawns with mortals. 👑🐶

🎭 HELP MEEEEEEEEE!

An ordinary day, all quiet, until suddenly… a scream! 😱

HELP MEEEEEEEEE!
I run away, imagining a dogfight, a wolf attack, an alien invasion…. 🚀

I arrive at the place and I see a paralyzed girl, with a terrified face. The reason? Mamas was sniffing her dog’s butt. 😑
She’s attacking my dog! 😭
No ma’am, she’s just getting to know him… that’s how they introduce themselves
NOOOOOOO! She’s bullying him! 😭
Ma’am…he’s a dog…. 🤦‍♂️

As much as I tried to explain to her that dogs don’t have a “biography” section on social networks and that sniffing their butts is their way of greeting each other, there was no way. She left offended.

🍽️ The Romantic Dinner… with your Dog

But nothing beats the lady coming down to the dining room with her dog’s dinner. 🍖🐶
I’m sorry, but dogs are not allowed to eat here.
But he ALWAYS eats dinner with me! 😡
So have dinner together in the room.
This is outrageous!

She left red with rage and I think she is still telling her tragedy to anyone who will listen. 😅

🎭 Grand Finale: The Drama of the Room

And of course, there are those who want a five-star suite for their dog. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐕

One came in demanding:
My dog needs a private room.
We have rooms with plenty of room for him.
No, no, no. He needs HIS OWN room, WITH A BED. 🛏️
But
And a TV because it’s boring! 📺

I can already imagine the dog changing channels with the remote and criticizing the news. 📡🐶

💭 Conclusion: Every day here is an adventure. I don’t know if it’s the fault of the owners, the dogs or the alignment of the stars, but what is clear is that this place has become a theme park of doggy eccentricities. 😂🐕

Yes… 95% of the clients are great! But that other 5%… it’s enough to write a book. 📖😆

Reflection: When Owners are More Complicated than Dogs 🐶🤯

Owning a dog should be a simple experience: it is a life companion, a faithful friend and, in many cases, almost a member of the family. But what we sometimes forget is that dogs are still dogs. They don’t ask for luxuries, special rules, or VIP spaces. They simply want to run, play, sniff another dog’s butt (yes, that’s how they socialize) and go about their day.

The problem, many times, is not the dogs. It’s the owners. 🫠

REFLECTION:

We live in a time when we humanize animals so much that some owners turn them into extensions of their own personality, forgetting that dogs have no ego, no whims, no social anxiety (at least not in the way we understand it). A dog does not need everyone else out of the way for him to run free, or a hotel room with a television, or to be protected from a simple interaction with another dog. Those are human concerns, not dog concerns.

It is curious to see how, in their attempt to “take care” of their dogs, some people isolate them, transmit their fears to them and prevent them from being what they are: sociable, playful and adaptable animals. Instead of letting them live their nature, they turn them into little emperors with absurd rules that the rest of the world should abide by.

But the most ironic thing is that, despite all these eccentricities, the dog is still a dog. It doesn’t matter how much drama his owner makes, how much he demands privileges or how angry he gets if you tell him he can’t have dinner with him in a restaurant… In the end, the dog just wants his walk, some food and a good nap. 🐕💤

Perhaps the real lesson here is that, instead of demanding that everything revolves around them, some owners should learn a little from their own dogs: live more simply, socialize without fear and stop worrying so much about little things. Because at the end of the day, dogs enjoy life much more than we do, and without so much drama. 😉🐾
