They sleep in peace, they dream of nothing,
a caress is their journey.
No worries, just the moment,
their loyalty, a pure feeling.
They follow us to the bathroom, they watch slowly,
in their simple world, everything is an embrace.
They teach us life, with no other ambition:
love, company and a heart.
That’s the one my dear dogs are wearing… Oh, I’m so envious! And not exactly a healthy envy. They live a life that many of us would like for ourselves: full of tranquility, love and simple happiness. The bad life… What envy! by MasTorrencito
An existence free of worries, stress, alarms at dawn. They live in their perfect world, where the most important thing is to enjoy every moment, as if every day were a party.
They spend the day… well, you know, sleeping placidly on the couch, with those impossible postures that only they achieve and that seem to be taken out of a comedy. And if they’re not sleeping, they’re eating, always with that enthusiasm that seems to say, “This is the best dish in the world!” (even if it’s the same croquette you give them every day). And if they’re not eating, they’re playing. Running around the yard like crazy, chasing balls, chewing on their favorite toys or daring you with their eyes to chase them.
And when they do nothing of the sort, they seek caresses.
With those looks that pierce your soul, those paws that touch you gently to ask for attention. It’s as if they’re reminding you, “Hey, I’m here. Don’t forget about me.” They lay their head on your leg, lick your hand or lie on their belly, hoping you won’t resist the temptation to scratch their belly. How could anyone resist? There’s nothing like feeling the pure, selfless connection they have with you.
Of course, there are times when they seem to be simply enjoying their own existence. You see them scratching an ear with total concentration or looking out the window, fascinated by something you would never manage to notice: a falling leaf, a bird flying, or even nothingness. And while you are running around, with a thousand things on your mind, they are there, in their bubble of calm, enjoying what for us goes unnoticed.
The life of dogs… who could have it?
Because these dogs, at least ours and those of our clients, live like true gods. Loved, pampered, surrounded by love and care. They don’t know the stress of paying bills, work worries or emotional dramas. But in spite of that, they are always by your side. Even when they don’t understand your problems, they feel them. They don’t need to understand what you’re going through; it’s enough for them to know that you need company, and they’ll be there. Always.
They are always happy.
That’s their magic. No matter what happens around them, they always find a way to smile at you (yes, dogs smile). Their tails wag like flags waving in the wind, proving that they don’t need big things to be happy. Because their happiness is you. You are their whole world.
If you get up at night to drink water, they notice. They may follow you into the bathroom, as if you’re doing something vitally important that they don’t want to miss. Or maybe they stay where they are, but with one eye ajar, watching to make sure everything is in order. They are your silent guardians, always present, always alert, but never making a sound. It doesn’t matter if you’re busy, if you’re having a bad day or if you barely pay attention to them. For them, the most important thing is that you are close by.
That loyalty is something that cannot be explained in words.
It is a deep gratitude to us, their owners, for the simple fact of being there. They ask for nothing more than that: your presence. They don’t need expensive gifts, nor great adventures. An afternoon on the couch, feeling your warmth, while the world goes on spinning outside, is enough for them. Their life is simple, yes, but full of meaning.
They don’t judge your mistakes. They don’t criticize your decisions. They don’t get upset over silly things. They’re just there, with you, no matter what. And that gives us a life lesson that many of us should learn.
Maybe dog life isn’t so “bad” after all. Maybe they’re the ones who have everything that really matters: love, peace of mind, and someone to love unconditionally. And maybe, the next time you see them asleep on that couch, belly in the air and paws crooked, you should think, “I wish someday I could live with that peace.”
Because, at the end of the day, they teach us that happiness is in the simplest things. And that, dear friend, is something we should all envy.
What do you think, do you think it’s true? From your comment… 😊
From MasTorrencito we wish you a good day and may your dogs be with you!!!!
