A day without clients at Mas Torrencito is a rarity, an unexpected gift and a mixture of emotions. For us dogs, it is a unique opportunity to have Miguel all to ourselves. But it’s also a bit strange… and I’m going to tell you why!
The dawn of calm
The day starts like any other. Miguel gets up early, and we, the watchdogs of Mas Torrencito, are already attentive to his every move. But there is something strange in the air: there are no cars arriving, no sound of suitcases dragging on the gravel, and no one shouting “What a nice place! There are no customers.
-No one’s coming today, Miguel?” barks Masto as he wags his tail.
-No, guys. Nobody is here today. It looks like we’ll have a quiet day,” Miguel answers with a smile that tries to hide his concern.
And that’s where our special day begins. 😄
Doggy paradise
When there are no clients, Miguel is 100% there for us, he is the glory! Whatever we need, he’s there. If we want fresh water, we have it instantly. If Maky needs a stick, Miguel gets it. And if I, Manuela, want a rock (because yes, I love rocks), he finds it and gives it to me. 🐾
Normally, when there are customers, Miguel is always busy: on the phone, attending to someone or making sure everything is perfect. But today, today is our opportunity. We all know that, and we take advantage of every moment.
– “Miguel, look, the ball!”- barks Masto as he pushes it towards him.
– “Look at this stick, isn’t it cool?”- says Maky with a doggy smile.
I just watch him, wagging my tail slowly, because I know that in the end he can’t resist my little eyes. 🐶
We were running around the garden, jumping in the empty pool and playing with each other – it was as if time stood still!
The setbacks of not having customers. A day without customers at Mas Torrencito, told by Manuela 🐾
However, not everything is perfect. We miss the other dogs that customers sometimes bring in. We love it when they arrive and we can play with them, or even steal a kibble from their plate while they’re not looking. And of course, we also miss the petting from visitors, those “how cute are these doggies!” that always make us feel like movie stars. 🌟
Besides, we know that Miguel cares. If there are no customers, there is no income, and that makes us a little sad because we can see it in his energy. Even though he tries to hide it, we are very smart dogs. But we still do our best to make his day.
-Manuela, come here,” Miguel says to me as he caresses me behind my ears. “Everything will be fine.”
I don’t understand everything he says, but I know that his voice reassures me. 💕
The surprise: a trip to the beach!
Suddenly, Miguel stands up with renewed energy.
-Come on guys, into the car!” he says with a smile, and we all get excited.
It’s not something that happens every day, but when there are no customers, sometimes it takes us to the beach. And what a wonderful thing that is! We love to run in the wet sand, chase the waves and play until we’re exhausted. Masto keeps asking her to throw him the ball, Maky finds giant sticks and me… I chase the rocks I find on the shore.
-Maky, put down that stick, it’s bigger than you!” shouts Miguel while laughing.
-Look at this stone, Miguel, it’s perfect for me!” I bark, although I don’t know if he understands my enthusiasm.
Although sometimes I think Miguel ends up more tired than us. We see him running from one side to the other, trying to meet our demands. But it doesn’t matter, because he is happy to see us enjoying ourselves. And so are we. 🏖️
The most special moment: the shared sofa. A day without customers at Mas Torrencito, as told by Manuela 🐾
When we return to Mas Torrencito after a day like this, Miguel sits on the sofa, and we pile up around him. It’s like a ritual. One sits on his legs, another on the back, and I always find a perfect spot right next to him.
– “Ugh, you guys don’t let me breathe,”- Miguel says with a chuckle as he looks at us fondly.
But he never tells us to get off, so we assume he’s delighted to have us so close 😉.
Sometimes I think that, although the days without customers may be worrying for Miguel, they are the most beautiful days for us. Because in those moments, we are a complete family, no distractions, no rush. Just us, together.
Doggy reflection
At the end of the day, as Miguel caresses us one by one before going to sleep, I think about how lucky we are to have him. Even if there are worries at times, we are always here for him, as he is for us. And perhaps, on these rare and quiet days, he feels that way too.
Because at Mas Torrencito, we are more than dogs. We are the soul of the place. 🐾❤️
From Mas Torrencito we wish you a good day and that your dog accompanies you !!!!
