A few days ago, my friend Andrés, from Masia la Palma, showed me a review left by a customer. One of those reviews that don’t need frills or long paragraphs: few words, but so well chosen that they pinch your soul.

A nice review, yes… but, above all, authentic. One of those that manage to condense in a few lines a whole experience, the taste that a place leaves in your mouth, the quiet emotion of a stay lived calmly, with care… with truth.

And I thought: that’s what’s really worth it. To have someone go away and, without asking for anything, give you an opinion that smells of gratitude and happy memories.

So, from here, my small tribute to those people who know how to see with their heart… and write it with simplicity.

UX o la experiencia final del cliente by MasTorrencito

The review talked about something called UX, and I thought: “UX? What is that? A new TV channel? A sushi plate?” 😂But curiosity got the better of me (as always), so I started to investigate… and there began my little trip to the wonderful world of the English words that marketing people use to say the same old things but with more glamour.

It turns out that UX stands for User Experience, or in English: the user experience.
And with that my head exploded a little 💥 because I realized that what they call UX… is exactly what I’ve been trying to create in MasTorrencito for years!

But let’s take it one step at a time.

I also came across other terms:
👉 B2B(Business to Business): companies that sell to other companies.
👉 B2C(Business to Consumer): companies that sell to the end consumer.
👉 And UX, which as I said, is what you feel when you buy something, when you use a service, when you visit a site… when you live an experience.

And that’s when I connected the dots.
Because at MasTorrencito we don’t sell rooms. We sell moments.
We sell the feeling of arriving to a quiet place after a long trip. Of having a glass of wine without looking at the clock. To see your dog running free, without a leash, without worries.

And that’s… that’s pure UX.

I will tell you an example that marked me:

One day three couples arrived, each from a different country – Germans, Belgians and Swiss.
They only came to spend one night. A quick stop before continuing on their way south.
But when they saw the garden, the surroundings, the freedom with which their dogs could move around, the atmosphere… they let loose.

They ended up spending the evening together, although they had never met before.
They opened some beers, took out some bottles of wine, sat in the garden and started talking, laughing, sharing stories.
Their dogs were running happily among the trees, ours joined the party, and between barks, laughter and toasts… it became nighttime.

It was one of those moments that cannot be programmed or sold with an offer.
It was pure experience. It was connection, freedom, enjoyment. It was exactly what the experts call a “good UX”, but what we here simply call feeling at home.

And that is why I have clients who have been stopping at MasTorrencito for more than 15 years.
People who come down from Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, on their way to Almeria, Malaga, Valencia… and who always spend a night here.
Some stay only one day, others extend their stay. But the important thing is that, even if they are passing through, they choose us every time.
Because they recharge their batteries here. Because their dogs rest. Because they sleep peacefully. And because we are no longer just an accommodation, we are a necessary stop.

I don’t know much about technicalities, nor do I have a master’s degree in digital marketing…
But I know how to recognize when someone leaves here with a smile on their face, their shoulders more relaxed, their glass empty but their soul full.

And that, my friends, is UX.

So thank you, Andrés, for showing me that review.
Because now I know that what I do, what we live here, has a name.
And even if it comes in English… it feels in any language. ❤️

Reflection:

Sometimes people ask me if I care about reviews.
And the truth is that I do… but not for the points, not for the algorithm, not for being at the top of Google.
I care about them when they are real.

When someone writes what they lived in MasTorrencito, how they felt, how they laughed, how they slept…
When they tell that their dogs ran free, that they had a little wine in the garden, that they felt at home…
That’s when I say: this is worth it.

Because I, Miguel, have not set up a hotel.
I have created a place. A corner with a soul.
And when someone notices it, feels it and writes it…
I am really excited.

They don’t need to say it beautifully.
They just need to say it sincerely.
They need to tell what we are. Without filters. No posturing.

Because in MasTorrencito we do not promise luxury.
We promise authenticity.
And if in a review someone reflects it…
for me, that is SUUUPERRRR. Really. 💛
